Solid 9ct gold Hebdomas full hunter pocket watch, keeps remarkably accurate time over several days and will run for 8 days. The case measures 48mm (4.8cm) across the case, made of solid, fully hallmarked, 9ct gold. Hallmarked on all parts. London imported and date mark for 1913, sponsor mark of G.G.G. (George Guillaume Gautschi, trading as De Pury, Gautschi & Co.). The case springs open, with a depression of the crown as expected, the covers open close well. Engine turned pattern to front and back, vacant Cartouche to front. No scratches or dents, barley a mark to be seen. The only marks that can be found on the outer covers are EXTREMELY minor and near the hinges, has 1 extremely small, insignificant micro crack in the gold case front cover near the hinge (approx 3mm in length) this will cause no issues. Clean and bright throughout.
Gold coloured mainspring barrel with the usual plaudits, the mainspring has been examined and deemed fit for purpose and looks reasonably new, cleaned and oiled. The clutch mechanism within the barrel is intact and working as intended (a safety feature that prevents straining the mainspring) Once fully wound the clutch slips with a "click" this denotes the watch is fully wound and cannot tighten further, even if the user keeps trying. A nice feature.
The dial is bright and clean, signed "Hebdomas Patent * Days Swiss Made", has a faint hairline crack running from the visible balance, under the chapter ring at 6 O'clock, to the outer edge. Difficult to see but is there. Black Roman Numerals, gold hands. White inside chapter ring and very subtle, faint Rouge background to the rest of the dial.
The movement is extremely clean and running exceptionally well. Pin set and crown wind. Fully serviced. The visible balance is true-running.
Mineral glass crystal in perfect condition.
Presented in a luxury, fitted velvet, pocket watch box in black.
Great for wedding, graduation, retirement, Christmas, Father’s day or birthday present. A very nice piece. Recently Fully Serviced, including a mainspring inspection and oil.
Servicing is defined as the piece being disassembled, cleaned, inspected and adjusted if necessary. It is then re-assembled and correctly oiled, timed for accuracy and adjusted if required. The mainspring has been inspected and deemed fit for purpose, oiled, and the piece will be bench-tested for several days.
I restore all of my watches to a fully working condition. It is my aim to provide a watch that is not only running but working to a usable state. My watches can be worn and used for their intended purpose on a daily basis. The time keeping should certainly be within +- 5 minutes per 24 hours but I aim for +-3 or better. I do offer guarantees, the details of which can be found on my website for Time Pocket Watches. I have many years experience and a vast catalogue of Waltham spares and parts.
My highly detailed photographs show the watch in detail, this level of detail is not normally seen by the naked eye. The watch will look even better in real life.
