A Model 1899, 16 jewel, size 16s, scarce model, one for the collector.
Factory produced 16 jewels with gilt screws.
Display window chromed case.
50mm (5cm) across the case without the crown.
The case is clean and bright throughout, the front cover screws on/off well. Swing out movement, good hinge. No dings, dents, scratches or corrosion. Both front and rear crystals are mineral glass and in perfect condition.
The dial is bright and clean, has a short, minor hairline from the edge of sub seconds dial to the outer edge between 5 - 6 O'clock, signed "Waltham" Arabic Numerals, blued steel hands.
The movement is a Waltham 16 Jewel model 1899 dating to c1900. The "Gray Book" does have it down as a 16 Jewel but others in the run are 15 so the online database has been changed to 15 Jewel. It has been known for employees to produce a short custom run, which might explain the unusual configuration. Or, it could have been a private label run and had the dial replaced at some point in its life. At the time of listing, I am still researching this, so if you have information on these 16J movements, then please get in touch.

Serviced.
Servicing is defined as the piece being disassembled, cleaned, inspected and adjusted if necessary. It is then re-assembled and correctly oiled, timed for accuracy and adjusted if required. Statement.
I restore all of my watches to a fully working condition. It is my aim to provide a watch that is not only running but working to a usable state. My watches can be worn and used for their intended purpose on a daily basis. The time keeping should certainly be within +- 5 minutes per 24 hours but I aim for +-3 or better. I do offer guarantees, the details of which can be found on my website for Time Pocket Watches. I have many years of experience and a vast catalogue of Waltham spares and parts.
Photography.
My highly detailed photographs show the watch in detail, this level of detail is not normally seen by the naked eye. The watch will look even better in real life.
