A coin silver Victorian Waltham full hunter pocket watch with matching sterling silver Albert chain. The chain fob decoration matches that of the front case of the watch, a bonded shield cartouch to give a layered 3D decoration.
Fully working and usable as an every day watch.
Dates to c1896 making it c127 years old. In great condition. 5cm (50mm) across the case.
A handsome 1888 in a scarcely seen for this model, a coin silver full hunter type case and in fantastic condition. The A.W.W. Co case (Waltham) has no major scratches or dents and is bright and clean throughout. The front and rear covers open to 90 degrees, good hinges, no major signs or wear. Front cover pops open with a depression of the crown, as it should. Engine turned pattern to front and rear, coin edged and has the raised blank front cartouche to front. No real signs of wear.
Mineral glass crystal, perfect.
The dial is bright and clean, has a short and faint hairline crack through the 8 O'clock (VII) position, no chips. Roman numerals and red outer numbers. Signed "American Waltham Watch Co".
Blued steel hands.
The movement is a Waltham model 1888 11 Jewel, dating to c1896. Recently fully serviced including modern alloy "unbreakable" mainspring. Tested,
