Victorian Waltham full hunter pocket watch.
 
Dates to c1896 making it c124 years old. In great condition. 5cm (50mm) across the case.
 
Gold filled, Doubleor Vigilant full hunter case. In fantastic condition, no major scratches or dents. The front and rear covers open to 90 degrees, good hinges, no major signs or wear to the engraved pattern. Front cover pops open with a depression of the crown, as it should. Coin edged. Yellow gold colour.
 
Acrylic crystal is in great condition.
 
The dial is bright and clean, some short hairline cracks at outer edge at the XI position. Roman numerals and signed "American Waltham Watch Co". 
 
Gold hands.
 
The movement is a Waltham model 1888 dating to 1896. Recently fully serviced including modern alloy "unbreakable" mainspring. Tested, runs well and keeps good time.
 
With graduated rolled gold Albert chain with shield fob. Vintage chain but no signs of wear, no makers marks. 25 cm length from T to dog clip.
 
Presented in a pocket watch case and velvet pouch for the chain.
 
Great for wedding, graduation, retirement, Christmas, Fathers day or birthday present. A very nice piece.
 
Recently Fully Serviced, including modern alloy "unbreakable" mainspring.
 
Serviced.
 
Servicing is defined as the piece being disassembled, cleaned, inspected and adjusted if necessary. It is then re-assembled and correctly oiled, timed for accuracy and adjusted if required. The mainspring will be replaced with a modern alloy type and the piece will be bench-tested for at least one day.
 
Statement.
 
I restore all of my watches to a fully working condition. It is my aim to provide a watch that is not only running but working to a usable state. My watches can be worn and used for their intended purpose on a daily basis. The time keeping should certainly be within +- 5 minutes per 24 hours but I aim for +-3 or better.
