0mm (5cm) across case without crown. 1918. A stunning gold filled fancy cased full hunter. The case is a Quadruple colour RAMONA by the Illinois Watch Case Co, 20 year guaranteed (from date of manufacture) each part is made from 2 plates of gold with a plate of composition between them, vastly superior to electroplating which only deposits a very thin layer of gold. Decorated with Roses and leaves with a vacant shield to front center, features rose gold, yellow gold and red gold accents onto the base gold of the case, very well done. Very clean and bright throughout, all hinges are good, all covers open and close well. Front cover pops open with a depression of the crown, as it should. Front cover opens slightly past 90 degrees and rear covers open to 90 degrees. Very good condition case with only light marks commensurate with age and a couple of minor dings here and there, some signs of wear but not exposing the base metal. No major scratches. The double sunk dial is bright and clean with no hairline cracks or chips, signed "Waltham". Roman Numerals red numbers to outer chapter ring, blued steel coloured hands. The movement is a Waltham model 1908 P. S. Bartlett, dating to 1918, damascened, gold regulator adjuster star and gold center wheel, screw in jewels and 17 jewelled, running well and keeps good time. Good acrylic crystal in great condition. Complete with a new matching rose gold plated double Albert chain with lucky horse shoe fobs, 1 in rose gold plate and the other in yellow gold plate complimenting the watch case well. Great for wedding, graduation, retirement, Christmas, Fathers day or birthday present. A very nice piece. Recently Fully Serviced, including modern alloy "unbreakable" mainspring.
Servicing is defined as the piece being disassembled, cleaned, inspected and adjusted if necessary. It is then re-assembled and correctly oiled, timed for accuracy and adjusted if required. The mainspring will be replaced and the piece will be bench-tested for at least one day.
