50mm (5cm) across case without crown. A remarkable gold filled full hunter.
The case is a Dennison MOON 20 year guaranteed (from date of manufacture) each part is made from 2 plates of 10ct gold with a plate of composition between them, vastly superior to electroplating which only deposits a very thin layer of gold. Very clean and bright throughout, all hinges are good, all covers open and close well.
Front cover pops open with a depression of the crown, as it should. Front and rear covers open to 90 degrees. Some very light marks commensurate with age, one small pinpoint ding to rear and minor marks from the bow making contact with the case.
The metal dial is bright and clean, signed "Waltham". Arabic numbers, blued steel hands.
The movement is a Waltham Vanguard model 1908, 23 jewel, adjusted in 5 positions, damascened, gold jewel holders, gold center wheel, gold pallet fork jewel holder and gold lettering, running well and keeps good time. Dates to 1913. Pendant set (pull crown out) and crown wind.
Good acrylic crystal in great condition.
Presented in a new, luxury, velvet, fitted pocket watch box in blue.
Rolled gold Albert chain with spinner fob included, presented in a blue velvet jewellers pouch.
Great for wedding, graduation, retirement, Christmas, Fathers day or birthday present. A very nice piece. Recently Fully Serviced, including modern alloy "unbreakable" mainspring.
Servicing is defined as the piece being disassembled, cleaned, inspected and adjusted if necessary. It is then re-assembled and correctly oiled, timed for accuracy and adjusted if required. The mainspring will be replaced with a modern alloy type and the piece will be bench-tested for at least one day.
I restore all of my watches to a fully working condition. It is my aim to provide a watch that is not only running but working to a usable state. My watches can be worn and used for their intended purpose on a daily basis. The time keeping should certainly be within +- 5 minuted per 24 hours but I aim for +-3 or better. I do offer guarantees, the details of which can be found on my website for Time Pocket Watches. I have many years experience and a vast catalogue of Waltham spares and parts.
My highly detailed photographs show the watch in detail, this level of detail is not normally seen by the naked eye. The watch will look even better in real life
