This handsome 14ct gold filled half hunter case and in very good condition. The case being a Dennison SUN 25 year guaranteed (from date of manufacture) each part is made from 2 plates of 14ct gold with a plate of composition between them, vastly superior to electroplating which only deposits a very thin layer of gold. The SUN model was Dennisons top of the range gold filled model, this is as good as it gets without being solid gold. It has the advantage of being stiffer than solid gold and therefore, more robust.
The front and rear covers open to 90 degrees, good hinges, no signs wear. Front cover pops open with a depression of the crown, as it should. Intact blue enamel inlayed Roman Numerals around front mineral glass window. No bad dents or scratches, the rear has the only marks and are small and insignificant and pin point.
Mineral glass inner and front porthole crystal , the inner is perfect and the front porthole has one small mark/scratch.
The dial is bright and clean, no hairline cracks, has two small surface marks/chips that are only noticeable under magnification. Roman numerals. Signed "J.W. Benson London".

The movement is a Swiss made 17 Jewel. Signed J.W. Benson. Recently fully serviced including modern alloy "unbreakable" mainspring. Tested, runs well and keeps good time.
With impressive trombone link Albert chain with red onyx spinner attached. The chain and spinner are new and in the traditional style.
Presented in a luxury padded metal case, velvet fitted and recessed for the chain.
Great for wedding, graduation, retirement, Christmas, Fathers day or birthday present. A very nice piece.

Serviced.
Servicing is defined as the piece being disassembled, cleaned, inspected and adjusted if necessary. It is then re-assembled and correctly oiled, timed for accuracy and adjusted if required. The mainspring will be replaced with a modern alloy type and the piece will be bench-tested for at least one day.
Statement.
I restore all of my watches to a fully working condition. It is my aim to provide a watch that is not only running but working to a usable state. My watches can be worn and used for their intended purpose on a daily basis. The time keeping should certainly be within +- 5 minutes per 24 hours but I aim for +-3 or better.
