Dent are a well known and respected London watch and clock maker. A particularly well know Victorian era brand used by the likes of King Edward VII who owned a Dent, as did Charles Darwin. Dent's Standard Clock at the Royal Observatory kept the British Empire on time. And the one everyone knows, the world's most famous Dent: Parliament's Great Clock – or Big Ben
Dated to 1883 with London assay hallmark.

The case by EP (Ernest Pobjoy, probably) is sterling silver. In very good condition, some very slight marks commensurate with age, no major scratches, no real signs of wear, no bad dings or dents. Rear covers open to 90 degrees. All hinges are good. The front cover springs open well, with a depression of the button at the crown/loop. Serial number 27346
Mineral glass crystals in perfect condition. Mounted in a hinged bezel to allow access to the swing out movement.
The dial is bright and clean, has a faint hairline running from the center to XII - I position, no chips. Black Roman Numerals, gold main hands and blued steel sub seconds.
The fusee movement is fully signed "Dent, watchmaker to the Queen, 33 Cockspur St London" 27346. Recent service.
This is a key set and wind, accessed from inside the rear cover. The center hole is for the time adjustment and the other to wind, in an anticlockwise direction. A key is supplied with the watch.

A 1 year warranty is provided for the main workings of the watch. The fusee chain is considered a consumable and carries a 1 month warranty. The chain can be replaced at cost thereafter.
