Antique Victorian Waltham full hunter pocket watch. Dates to c1891 making it c135 years old.
Size 16s. 5cm (50mm) across the case.
A very handsome model 1888 in a gold filled Crescent Watch Case Co case. 14k gold filled, guaranteed to wear 20 years (from date of manufacture) and a solid 14k gold bow. In fantastic condition, no bad scratches, has a few light scratches to the dust cover, no dents or dings, very minimum signs of wear and only noticeable to the solid gold bow. No personalised engravings or monograms. The front and rear covers open to 90 degrees, good hinges. Front cover pops open with a depression of the crown, as it should. Exceptional for a 135 year old watch.
Crown set and wind, pull the crown out to set the time.
The dial is bright and clean, no hairline cracks or chips. Roman numerals and signed "American Waltham W Co".
Blued steel hands.
Mineral glass crystal, perfect.
The movement is a Waltham grade 22 model 1888 11 Jewel, dating to c1891. Recently fully serviced including modern alloy mainspring. Tested, runs well and keeps good time.
Complete with a 14k gold plated Trombone link double Albert chain with Citrine (synthetic) set spinner.
Presented in a high quality, luxury fitted pocket watch box with recess for the chain.
Great for wedding, graduation, retirement, Christmas, Fathers day or birthday present. A very nice piece.
Serviced.
Servicing is defined as the piece being disassembled, cleaned, inspected and adjusted if necessary. It is then re-assembled and correctly oiled, timed for accuracy and adjusted if required. The mainspring will be replaced with a modern alloy type and the piece will be bench-tested for at least one day.
Statement.
I restore all of my watches to a fully working condition. It is my aim to provide a watch that is not only running but working to a usable state. My watches can be worn and used for their intended purpose on a daily basis. The time keeping should certainly be within +- 5 minutes per 24 hours but I aim for +-3 or better.
