A fine gentleman's sterling silver full hunter pocket watch with Australian connections.
Sadly, this watch was returned by a customer with a scratch to the rear cover. The scratch has been polished out, however, the engine turn pattern now shows signs of wear due to the polishing.
Made by Harold Bradford of London, housed in a sterling silver hallmarked case by Leopold Bessire, dated to 1885 and Birmingham assay. Retailed by S.R. Drew South Brisbane. Engine turned pattern, vacant cartouche , offset hinges. Nice solid case. Front cover springs open with a depression of the crown as intended and with a strong action. No dings, dents or scratches. Has a slight "rash" to the rear cover at the outer edge (pictured) and a scratch.
The dial is bright and clean, no hairline cracks or chips. Roman numerals. Blued steel hands. Signed S.R. Drew South Brisbane.
The movement is a full plate lever, London made by Harold Bradford, 15 Jewel. Recently fully serviced including modern alloy "unbreakable" mainspring. Tested, runs well and keeps good time.
Includes a sterling silver, graduated Albert chain, as pictured.
This is a crown wind and pin set watch.
Mineral glass crystal in perfect condition.
The weight of the watch itself is 120 grams.
Presented in a luxury and strong metal framed pocket watch case. The case is padded faux leather and fitted with dense velvet covered foam, recessed to accommodate the watch and a chain.
Great for wedding, graduation, retirement, Christmas, Fathers day or birthday present. A very nice piece.
Recently Fully Serviced, including modern alloy "unbreakable" mainspring.
Serviced.
Servicing is defined as the piece being disassembled, cleaned, inspected and adjusted if necessary. It is then re-assembled and correctly oiled, timed for accuracy and adjusted if required. The mainspring will be replaced with a modern alloy type and the piece will be bench-tested for at least one day.
Statement.
I restore all of my watches to a fully working condition. It is my aim to provide a watch that is not only running but working to a usable state. My watches can be worn and used for their intended purpose on a daily basis. The time keeping should certainly be within +- 5 minutes per 24 hours but I aim for +-3 or better. I do offer guarantees, the details of which can be found on my website for Time Pocket Watches. I have many years experience and a vast catalogue of Waltham spares and parts.
Photography.
My highly detailed photographs show the watch in detail, this level of detail is not normally seen by the naked eye. The watch will look even better in real life.
