Waltham 23 Jewel Vanguard model with wind indicator.
Size 16s. 5cm (50mm) Wide
The case is a Dennison sterling silver Special. Hallmarked Birmingham 1931. Engine turned pattern and coin edged, vacant cartouche to rear, no real signs of wear and no dings, dents or scratches worth mentioning. Some wear to the bow.

Mineral glass crystal in perfect condition.
The Vanguard 1908 movement is in good condition, damascened, 23 jewels, micro adjuster regulator , gold centre wheel, gold balance screws and gold jewel hole holders and gold lettering. Dated to c1929.
The wind indicator, power reserve functions as intended.
The dial is a 4 piece dial, in nice bright, clean condition. A small hairline crack is visible at the top left outside the wind indicator dial. Under magnification, a hairline crack can be made out across the chater ring, just below IX. No chips.
Fully serviced, running well and keeping good time. Serviced including modern "unbreakable" alloy mainspring.
Presented in a fitted jewellers watch case.

Servicing is defined as the piece being disassembled, cleaned, inspected and adjusted if necessary. It is then re-assembled and correctly oiled, timed for accuracy and adjusted if required. The mainspring will be replaced with a modern alloy type and the piece will be bench-tested for at least one day.
Statement.
I restore all of my watches to a fully working condition. It is my aim to provide a watch that is not only running but working to a usable state. My watches can be worn and used for their intended purpose on a daily basis. The time keeping should certainly be within +- 5 minutes per 24 hours but I aim for +-3 or better.
